Who Owns Kelly Paddik,is a page turner. It was very interesting to see what was going to happen next! The main setting of this book was Marymound School for Girls. It was the girls lock up center. Kelly got taken to the lock up center because of family issues.She is fifteen years old. Kelly was not happy to be there, she would try to run away but always failed. Kelly made a few friends. Also a nun named Sister Mary, and a social worker named Jim. There was one friend that she has met that she is not to sure if she is the lockups bully or not. Her name is Terry, but kelly calls her Pitbull. Terry has also been running away and is planing for he last escape soon. Kelly and "Pitbull" are like fake friends. Pitbull wants Kelly to cover, and distract Sister Mary wile Pitbull escapes. Kelly Talks to Sister Mary to distract her wile Pitbull runs off. After that everything is normal now exept that pitbull has been gone for two days. Finally the social workers find Pitbull and lock her up in a secluded room. Kelly talkes to Jim, her social worker and has her mom come in and talk to her. Kelly has never seen her mom in four years. From now on they talk to each other every Sunday. In about three months Kelly will be able to go to a group home, and then soon to her real home. After everything she has been through with Pitbull, her family issues, friends and her parents she has finally worked it out now. Who owns Kelly Paddik is a very inspiring book. It tells the reader that how bad your life may be there is always a way to make it better for yourself. I encourge any reader who is deciding to read this touching book to read it. This book was by Beth Goobie, and is a good book to put your eyes on!

Meh. I have really liked the Orca Soundings books thus far, but this one didn't cut it for me. I think it was partly because I'd read so many similar stories before, and partly because the ending seemed really rushed and way too happy. It would have been more believable if there had been more detail -- but the Orca Soundings books are supposed to be really short. The other characters at the residential treatment center were definitely believable though, as was Kelly herself.
