The Best Man Alpha Men Natasha Anders 9781503901520 Books

I'll get my very minor criticisms out of the way first so I can commence with telling you just how much I adored this storyline. The Best Man felt a bit slow moving at first, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. This story was the PERFECT blend of humor, heartache, angst and steam and I enjoyed every single second. There were some minor transitions that felt a little jarring in the moment, but other than that, this book was adorably unputdownable and I couldn't get enough.

Daffodil McGregor and Spencer Carlisle are like oil and vinegar. They don't mix well, they push and spar and compete, but they're absolutely delicious when they come together. This story is an enemies to lovers romance kicked up a notch by the bittersweet history this pair shared in high school. I fell in love with their story. I was addicted to their push and pull, and I loved the bumpy journey that evolves in this book. Sometimes I couldn't even tell if these two actually loved each other or if they truly hated each other because their mutual disdain was so palpable yet their chemistry was so off the charts. Figuring these two out was entertaining, so emotional, and captivating from beginning to end. This is one seriously refreshing read.

Natasha Anders has such a unique voice in romance and I have been over the moon for every one of her books. But I have a newfound appreciation for her work with The Best Man. This story was lighter than some of her other books, but super super steamy, and it made me unexpectedly laugh out loud more than once. It tugged at my heartstrings (those notes!!! Sigh.) And it swept me away with how absorbing the romance is. I so enjoyed Mason and Daisy's story in The Wing Man but I think Spencer and Daff just knocked them down a peg with this book.

The more I think back on this book, the more I fall in love with it. Daff is infuriating at times, so relatable at others. Spencer is a big brooding jerk at first, but he truly stole my heart with his sweet words and his heartbreaking history. I adored these characters so much. I was enamored by their twisty, complicated romance and I am head over heels for this world Anders has built around the McGregor family. I may have started out anxiously waiting for the story to pick up but it didn't take long for me to never want it to end. The Best Man is a delightfully addictive gem of a romance, an unforgettable story of enemies turned lovers, and a uniquely smart story that's as sweet as it is salty. Now more than ever I can't wait for Lia's story just to see more of all of these characters! I really loved this book.

The Best Man Alpha Men Natasha Anders 9781503901520 Books Reviews

This story contains the deeper thoughts on both the male and female insecurities. We all have layers and Anders did a great job of peeling and revealing each layer. The pain, the gruffness, and the sarcasm that the characters hide behind is revealed into a true love story.
I never thought she could top the last book. Apparently I was wrong! This was a great story. You fall in love with Spencer since the beginning. Staff was harder to like because she was so insecure, but in the end she won over me. Great read!
I have read all of And Anders' books and enjoyed every one. Filled with my humor and great characters, it is disappointing when I finish one and makes me hungry for her next book. Her descriptions of South African landmarks are extraordinary. It is a romance and journey through and through. Highly recommend!
I loved this book. Natasha Anders has been one of my favorite authors since I found The Unwanted Wife. As Natasha stated, the heroine is a tad bit more edgy and unkind at times than her previous heroines, but I loved how she worked all of her issues out and became the woman the hero related to. The book was a study in processing one's own self and determining who they really are. I would definitely recommend this book!
I like this second book in this series. I like the interaction between Daffodil and Spencer. One is a
extrovert who speaks her mind and has too many issues and the other is a quiet shy man who looks
like a wrestler. They seem to act more than think things though at first, but slowly they realize that
perhaps there is hope for them after all. Must read! Adults 18+ only.
Spencer is a big man, intimidating and not social at all. You find him in the corners at functions or not talking much at all. He is a loner. He also absolutely used to idolize Daffodil McGregor when they were kids.

He still thinks she is hot, but never quite gets up the nerve to approach her. When he does he stutters and never quite says what he means to or would like to.

As they get to know each other in their roles as best man and maid of honour for their siblings, they discover the true people beneath the facade.

Daff has issues, huge ones. She doesn't want a relationship o to be tied down. Spencer wants all those things. How do they get around It? Is it possible?

This is their story and I loved it. Awesome characters, great storyline. Well written.
I struggled with how to review this book. I dislike leaving poor reviews, and I have read every other novel from Natasha Anders quite happily.

This fell short of the quality I expected from her when it comes to romance and plots. It's beautifully written like the rest of her work, but Daffodil as a heroine was unlikable, immature, and downright infuriating. I understand her hesitation due to her past, but come on, her backstory was so outrageous I had trouble buying it?

I wanted a strong, witty, and smart heroine, instead we had a bully who constantly treated Spencer like her doormat.

About Spencer I LOVED HIM. He's a great guy, loyal to his family, but too many times I thought he was a pushover. Did this series become Beta Men instead of Alpha Men? Many times throughout the end of the novel, Daffodil mentions she doesn't deserve Spencer, and I gotta say I agree with her. She didn't.

Unsatisfying ending after a story filled with fluff and dragged out longer than it should. Don't even get me started on the hints about Lia and Sam coming up. He's a total jerkwad and I don't now if I dread or look forward to book 3. I want to read it because I've loved the rest of her work, but I don't look forward to wasting another five dollars on a dissatisfying book.
